Multiple states have ordered evacuations as Hurricane Irma is expected to make landfall on the continental United States this weekend forcing people and animals to leave. Many local shelters and rescue groups are in evacuation areas and are now trying to get their pets to safety. Most of them are faced with tough decisions as they never have the resources necessary to save all the pets in their care. A list of impacted shelters and rescues is below.

Every minute counts as Irma approaches

Many of the animal shelters on this list will be have brick and mortar locations and will have a list of things they need on their website including volunteers, supplies, and monetary donations. The majority of the rescue groups on this list will be working with many of these shelters to provide foster volunteers to open up kennel space.
