When it’s time for your foster pet to move on, it can be difficult to say goodbye. Some families do end up adopting their foster pet. If you think this is something you may want to do, please discuss this with the rescue organization before you agree to foster.
It takes special people to open up their homes and hearts. Remember, you’re saving a life! Many families find it comforting to be able to write a letter to the adopting family. This gives you an opportunity to tell them about your foster pet’s personality, quirks, routine, favorite toys and places to be scratched, etc. This is a tremendous gift that will help your foster pet adjust to his new home and bond with his new family.
